Hess Gone for Season in Fort Wayne Thursday, August 19th , 2021 "I'm frustrated right now," said Fort Wayne reliever Valdemar Hess. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Farmers, that's where he will be spending 5-6 months. Hess suffered shoulder inflammation in today's game against Providence while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be." This season, Hess has chalked up no saves, notched a 0-0 record with a 5.40 ERA, allowed 23 hits in his 23.1 innings of work, struck out 20 and walked 15. Opponents are hitting .253 against the Fort Wayne hurler. |
