Year Ends for Carlos Sanchez in San Diego Monday, August 2nd , 2021 The doctors have spoken and Carlos Sanchez of the San Diego Aztecs didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Sanchez sustained his season-ending injury during the Albuquerque Coyotes game yesterday at Knights Grove. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the San Diego medical staff reported Sanchez had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months. On the year, Sanchez has recorded 4 saves. In 28 relief appearances, he has 49 strikeouts in 36 innings with a 7.25 ERA. His season won-lost mark is 2-6. |
