Season-Ending Injury for Ray Lipscomb
Tuesday, June 8th , 2021
The Arlington Stars learned that Ray Lipscomb is likely to be out for 14 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Yuma Gnomes. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a damaged elbow ligament. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Arlington manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Ray is back in action."
For the season, Lipscomb has made 5 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 3.06 ERA. In pitching 17.2 innings, he has totaled 28 strikeouts and 12 walks.
