St. Petersburg Parts Company with Skipper Perez Monday, October 25th , 2021 St. Petersburg is now without a skipper after the announcement of manager Jose Perez's firing earlier today. Sources close to the Pelicans are saying that Perez had lost the confidence of the players and had allowed apathy and selfishness to take over the clubhouse. The St. Petersburg front office was unavailable for comment on the matter other than to confirm the manager's firing. A BNN poll done immediately after the announcement went public showed fan reaction seems mixed. "Glad that bum is gone," said one disgruntled fan. Several others were displeased with the decision, telling reporters, "Perez did the best he could with the talent and money he had." No timetable has been set by the team for announcing a replacement. |
