Southern California-Edmonton Trade: Sweeny for Rovanperä Monday, November 15th , 2021 In a move that has left many fans wondering, the Southern California Empires have traded 26-year old RF Burt Sweeny and $1,560 in cash to the Edmonton Drillers. In return, the Empires receive 30-year old 3B Taisto Rovanperä. Sweeny has a career .263 average with 143 hits, including 15 doubles, 1 triple and 19 homers, collected 80 RBIs, scored 71 runs and compiled a .304 OBP. For his 297-game career Rovanperä has hit .286 with 300 hits, 149 RBIs, and 24 home runs. |
