Wednesday, November 3rd , 2021
Ryan Carden of the Las Vegas Rollers has been named the winner of the 2021 Western Semi-Pro Circuit Reliever of the Year Award.

The award comes at an opportune time too, as the 33-year-old is an impending free agent.

"You always hope to have this type of year every year, but it's pretty special to have it before I go to free agency, if that happens," he said.

On the year, the relief ace had a 2.38 ERA over 117.1 innings of work. He made 63 relief appearances and had 20 saves, 116 strikeouts, 28 walks and a record of 15-9. Opponent batters hit only .241 against him.

He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 20. Amari Sanders of the Southern California Empires finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Jonathan King of the Vacaville Steelheads finished third.
