Edmonton Trades Reek to Calgary for Schmidt Friday, October 29th , 2021 The Drillers announced today the acquisition of 31-year old minor league LHP Jörg Schmidt from the Calgary Caracals in exchange for 21-year old minor league RHP Silvian Reek, 22-year old minor league 2B Mario Martinez, and 22-year old minor league RHP Juan Cuellar. "This isn't the biggest deal out there," acknowledged the Drillers, "but it should help out both clubs." During his career, Schmidt has appeared in 197 games, logging 350.2 innings with 376 strikeouts. He has carved out a 3.44 ERA with 25 wins and 34 losses and posted 68 saves. |
