Martinez Cracks 5 Hits
Tampa Bay (R) third baseman Nelson Martinez had a big day at PBC Rookie Development Complex against the Boston (R) Shamrocks. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 12-10 Thunder triumph over Boston (R).

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Martinez said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Nelson Martinez singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Manny Martinez in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
