Tavira Goes 5-for-6
After a 5-hit effort to lead Denver (R)'s 11-8 victory over the San Francisco (R) Peanuts, shortstop Ignacio Tavira told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the PBC Rookie Complex League-level is really something special."

The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at PBC Rookie Development Complex with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Peanuts.

"His swing is getting there," said Cutthroats skipper Jeremy Richardson, who spoke glowingly of Tavira after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ignacio did that to perfection."

Ignacio Tavira singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Willie Ramirez in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.

Currently Tavira is batting .325 with 7 home runs and 30 RBIs.
