Bettencourt Goes on Rampage Against Canadians
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Tim Bettencourt, it came around today.

The 28-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Canadians Park to pace the 16-3 New York Knights victory over the Sherbrooke Canadians.

Sherbrooke skipper Matthew Kelly told reporters in the press room that "Bettencourt deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Bettencourt hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Tim Bettencourt singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Darius Hagen in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

In 63 games this season, Bettencourt is batting .268 with 68 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 38 runs and driven in 49.
