Season Ends for Damien Royer of Miami (R) Friday, August 28th , 2020
The doctors have spoken and Damien Royer of the Miami (R) Sun Sox didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Royer sustained his season-ending injury during the Denver (R) Cutthroats game yesterday at PBC Rookie Development Complex. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Miami (R) medical staff reported Royer had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.
In 16 starts this season, Royer has fashioned a 2-9 record and a 4.40 ERA.
