Philadelphia (R) Loses Victor Perez Wednesday, August 19th , 2020
The doctors have spoken and Victor Perez of the Philadelphia (R) Keystones didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Perez sustained his season-ending injury during the Washington (R) Warriors game yesterday at PBC Rookie Development Complex. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Philadelphia (R) medical staff reported Perez had bone chips in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months.
This season, Perez is 4-and-1 with no saves and a 6.06 ERA. He has given up 57 hits in 35.2 innings with 37 strikeouts.
