Flores Launches 3 HR for Grays Tuesday, August 18th , 2020 Providence Grays left fielder Frank Flores put on a dazzling display of power at Providence Field against the Brooklyn Atlantics. In the 11-3 Grays victory, Flores penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Brooklyn manager Justin Perry said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 17-year-old had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Flores said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Frank Flores hit a two-run home run off Zach Scott in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Franklin Hernandez in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Franklin Hernandez in the 6th. On the year, Flores is hitting .194 with 68 hits, 11 home runs, 36 RBIs, .300 OBP and has scored 40 runs. |
