French Keeps Hit Streak Alive Tuesday, August 18th , 2020 Isaiah French's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 25 games. The Manchester first baseman smacked 2 hits against the St. Petersburg Pelicans in today's game at Ballpark of St. Petersburg, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Monarchs drop the game, 6-5. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Isaiah French struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Matt Van Pelt in the 9th. This year, French is batting .341 with 13 home runs and 52 RBIs. In 77 games he has scored 59 times. |
