Ramos Smashes 3 Homers for Manhattan
Tuesday, July 28th , 2020
Manhattan Liberty center fielder Enrique Ramos put on a dazzling display of power at Central Park against the St. Petersburg Pelicans. In the 4-0 Liberty victory, Ramos penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," St. Petersburg manager Jose Perez said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 26-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Ramos said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Enrique Ramos grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Rob Moriarty in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Rob Moriarty in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Franklin Mejia in the 7th.
So far this season, Ramos has put up a .293 batting average with 81 hits, 11 home runs and 43 RBIs.
