Blitzed by Pfeiffer, Diablos, Peanuts Sink Further in PCC
Riding the 4-hit performance of right fielder Bob Pfeiffer, the El Paso Diablos stopped the visiting San Francisco Peanuts, 16-7, in Game 2 of the Pro Circuit Cup. Pfeiffer was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 and driving in 5 for the Diablos, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

One big at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning. Aaron Shelby, who finished 3rd in the PBC in home runs with 26 in 2017, hit a run-scoring single off San Francisco pitcher Gene Shepard. The Diablos went on to win the game.

"It's a gut punch," Peanuts manager Keven Berman said, "to get here and find ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 21st , 2020 at Garibaldi's Grounds in San Francisco.
