The right-hander turned in a performance for the ages at The Motor Yard, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the San Francisco Peanuts to victory in Game 1 of the Play-in Series. Canales held the Detroit Motors to 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5. The win got the best-of-5 series off to a good start for San Francisco, which now leads 1-0.

San Francisco starter Leo Canales was exceptional. The 6-foot-7 right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 9 innings of work.

Detroit manager Sean Morgan said "nothing went right"in the blowout loss.
