St. Louis 53-32 After Beating Union
|
The St. Louis Lions and Chicago Union completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The St. Louis Lions converted a terrific effort from starter Ryan Williams into a win over the Chicago Union at Trident Field. The Lions won the game by a final score of 4-2. Williams, now 15-5, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Jack Reynolds collected his 16th save.
St. Louis won the game in part because of Bryan Norlander. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lions ahead, 2-1. For the game, Norlander had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Ryan was good -- real good," said Lions manager Leo Cruz.
The victory gives the Lions a record of 53-32.
