Miami (R)'s Martinez Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Jose Martinez is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the St. Louis (R) Lions at PBC Rookie Development Complex. The monster effort from the 18-year-old center fielder helped the Miami (R) Sun Sox get the win, 6-3.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Lions manager Phil Howard. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Jose Martinez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

So far this season, Martinez is hitting .340 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 47 at-bats and a .404 OBP.
