Shamrocks Get Hard-Earned Win
The Boston Shamrocks withstood a fine game by Tampa Bay shortstop Bubba Marino at Boston Commons, to upend the Thunder, 9-8. Marino went 3-4 with 2 triples. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Reliever Loys Blaesvelt picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Dylan Smith, who is tied for 4th in the PBC in saves with 9, took the loss. The loss makes Tampa Bay 25-31.

The Shamrocks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 26-year old second baseman Jurg Gorbatsevich landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 cutter from Dylan Smith into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Boston Commons denizens into a frenzy and sent the Shamrocks home with a thrilling 9-8 win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gorbatsevich told the Boston Daily News.
