The Boston Shamrocks managed to get by the Tampa Bay Thunder, 4-3, at Boston Commons. Boston pitcher John Leew set himself apart with his performance. The Shamrocks now have a record of 23-30 with the win over Tampa Bay.

Boston center fielder Justin Martin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 45th hit of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 4-1.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Boston manager Wally Christensen. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
