The San Francisco Peanuts had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Sergio Hernandez to win, 5-4, at Trident Field. Hernandez went 9 innings and allowed 5 runs. San Francisco reliever Luke Dickerson picked up the win, while Sergio Hernandez took the loss for Chicago. The win puts San Francisco at 45-33 this season.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Carl Neville to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Peanuts on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Neville, "one at-bat at a time."
