The Chicago Union and Boston Shamrocks played an entertaining game for Boston Commons patrons.

Starting pitcher Heinz Brown gave the Chicago Union a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Boston Shamrocks, 3-2, at Boston Commons. Brown picked up the win for Chicago, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. Picking up his 3rd save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Iverson.

Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Jay Clinkscales to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Union ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Afterward, Clinkscales deflected to his teammates. "Heck of an effort all around," he said.

The Union have an impressive 44-28 record.
