Dallas parlayed a decent outing from starter Dusty Lang into a solid win over the Denver Cutthroats. The final score was 4-3. The winner was Fernando Gutierrez in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Won-keun Baek took the loss. After today's action, Dallas sits at 32-38, while Denver falls to 34-36.
Had Rob Briseno not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Briseno hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Texans.
Dallas manager Jesus Sanchez was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
