Henderson Rips Brooklyn for 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Oil City's 13-6 victory over the Brooklyn Atlantics, left fielder Dave Henderson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Amateur Baseball Circuit-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Atlantics Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Atlantics.

"His swing is getting there," said Oilers skipper John Whitmyer, who spoke glowingly of Henderson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Dave did that to perfection."

Dave Henderson singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.

So far this year, Henderson has 6 home runs and a .361 batting average.
