Sun Sox Stumble, Lose to Motors
The Detroit Motors thumped the Miami Sun Sox, 9-2, at The Motor Yard. Carlos Cortez was a big reason his team got the win. Cortez was 2-2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Detroit has an impressive 22-7 record.

With Detroit leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Cortez hit a fastball from Mark Brown for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Motors ahead, 5-0.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Barry Lolicht. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
