Sun Sox Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Blues, 3-2
|
The Miami Sun Sox earned a close win over the New York City Blues, thanks in part to Ashton Gray. The Miami left-hander, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Sun Sox organization, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Miami reliever Billy Daily picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. David Stewart was tagged with the loss. The loss drops the Blues to 0-3.
Miami used a timely hit from Ewald Pachman to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sun Sox ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Gray told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
