Diablos Bank 9-2 Win
|
The El Paso Diablos picked up a win at Trident Field, knocking off the Chicago Union, 9-2. Starting pitcher Jason Roether was a big reason why. Roether, the 18th overall pick in the 2017 draft, went the distance for El Paso. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The loss drops Chicago to 0-2.
Ryan Burton, who led the PBC in stolen bases with 127 in 2014, aided the El Paso cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs.
"That was a really good outing by Jason," said El Paso manager Joe Peters.
