The Houston Mavericks and El Paso Diablos obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Houston Mavericks topped the El Paso Diablos, 5-4, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at Mavericks Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Houston catcher Jorge Gonzalez. The win went to Mike Johnson in relief, making him now 2-0. Cortez Crus took the loss for El Paso.

Tim Platt, who is tied for 7th in the PBC in bases on balls with 8, helped out the Houston cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4 with a triple.

Platt said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."

The Diablos fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2020.
