Las Vegas (R) Halts Stapp's Hitting Steak Wednesday, August 28th , 2019 The Las Vegas (R) Aces got more than the 3-2 victory at PBC Rookie Development Complex -- they also put an end to the 22-game hitting streak of Detroit (R) Motors third baseman Steve Stapp by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats. After the game, Stapp seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." Stapp is currently hitting at a .310 pace with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 45 games and scored 16 times. |
