Chicago (R)'s Brouwer Will Miss Season Thursday, August 22nd , 2019 The Chicago (R) Union learned that Ferri Brouwer is likely to be out for 4 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Philadelphia (R) Keystones. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a fractured elbow. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Chicago (R) manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Ferri is back in action." Brouwer has posted a 4-4 record for the year with a 4.99 ERA. Teams are hitting .256 against him and he has rung up 87 strikeouts in 88.1 innings. |
