Season Possibly Over for Franklin Ortiz Sunday, August 25th , 2019 The Twisters received bad news this morning. Franklin Ortiz will miss 10-11 months due to a damaged elbow ligament. He sustained the injury in the Tulsa-Albuquerque game while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Ortiz sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." Thus far this season, Ortiz has tossed 138.1 innings in 28 starts, fanned 141 batters, walked 62 and put up a 5.40 ERA with 5 wins and 9 losses. |
