Powell Selected WAC's Top Pitcher Monday, September 23rd , 2019 Larry Powell of the Hollywood Stars was on cloud nine during the 2019 season, mystifying most of the hitters he faced, then capping it off with the Western Amateur Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award. Powell was spectacular in 22 starting assignments with 11 wins and 7 losses, 164.1 innings, 161 strikeouts and a fine 2.68 ERA. He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jim Vela of the Hollywood Stars finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while John Rodman of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished third.
