Hit Streak for Amador Reaches 25 Thursday, September 13th , 2018 The Boston (R) Shamrocks may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 2-1, to the Miami (R) Sun Sox, but Nelson Amador continued to hit like a god. The center fielder collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 25 games. "Amador is playing great and is on fire right now," Shamrocks manager Luis Santana said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Amador was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Nelson Amador hit a solo-shot off Nate Bacon in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. So far this season, Amador is hitting .350 with 9 home runs, 33 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 105 hits in 300 at-bats and a .436 OBP. |
