Denver (R) Loses Tapia for Year Wednesday, August 29th , 2018 Willis Tapia has to call it a season. The Denver (R) Cutthroats reliever sustained a season-ending injury against the Washington (R) Warriors and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Tapia was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 11-12 months. This season, Tapia has chalked up a 5.87 ERA while ringing up no saves with 1 win and 2 losses. He has made 9 relief appearances, pitching 15.1 innings, giving up 18 hits, and holding opponents to a .300 batting average. Tapia has also recorded 11 strikeouts and allowed 13 walks. |
