Miami (R)'s Johnson Gets Pitcher of the Year Award Monday, October 29th , 2018 When the name of Isaiah Johnson appeared on the Miami (R) lineup card in 2018, it was a virtual guarantee of a victory or at least a well-pitched game. For his brilliant performance this season he was named the PBC Rookie Complex League Pitcher of the Year Award winner today. He started 23 games, running up a 6-4 record and a 1.85 ERA. Johnson held opponents to a .205 average while striking out 158, walking 55 and allowing 104 hits in 141 innings of work. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mario Ramirez of the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder finished second in voting, while Orion Baker of the Toronto (R) Titans finished third.
