R Best Skipper, Santana of Boston (R) Sunday, October 28th , 2018 Manager Luis Santana was speaking before a Boston (R) fan luncheon when word came down that he'd been awarded the PBC Rookie Complex League Manager of the Year. Santana's face turned to surprise as the club's owner made the hasty announcement. "Wow... how lucky can a guy be? Manage a great bunch of guys... have great fans... have a great season... and now this... life don't get any better than this." Boston (R) fans applauded, recognizing how fortunate they were to have Santana at the helm. Both fans and players in attendance toasted their skipper as they truly enjoyed the day. 2018 was an extra-special season for Santana as he piloted the Boston (R) Shamrocks to a 51-37 record and a second place spot in the Rookie Complex League North Division standings. A record good enough to win the 2018 Manager of the Year Award. |
