Tejada Gets Award for Relief Work Friday, October 26th , 2018 Jordan Tejada was a calming influence out of the Detroit (R) Motors bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 20-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the PBC Rookie Complex League Reliever of the Year Award for 2018. The Willemstad, Curaçao native won the award with 2 saves in 23 relief appearances, 66 strikeouts in 52.2 innings and a record of 9-3 to go with his 0.85 ERA. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 18. Jim Grothaus of the El Paso (R) Diablos finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Jason Jackson of the Houston (R) Mavericks finished third.
