Monday, September 24th , 2018
At the age of 25, Walt Burden says he still has a lot to learn about life in Amateur Baseball Circuit.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the San Diego Aztecs reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2018 Western Amateur Circuit Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Montreal, Canada native said.

For the season, Burden had 12 saves in 39 relief appearances, which totaled 71.1. He fanned 80 betters, while walking 42 and put up a record of 4-2 to go with his 1.51 ERA.

He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Noah Harris of the El Paso Mavericks finished second in voting, while Abdel-Alim Akbar of the Houston Apollos finished third.
