No Late-Season Magic Coming: Houston Out of Playoffs Sunday, September 2nd , 2018 When it comes to a late-season playoff disappointment, the old axiom "wait until next year" isn't overly comforting. "We really thought we would get into the playoffs this year," said Houston Apollos starting pitcher George Dickie. "It's really disappointing to come up short." Houston last appeared in the postseason in 2013. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 14 times in their 16-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Apollos have only made the playoffs once. |
