Peregrin Chosen August's Best WAC Hurler Saturday, September 1st , 2018 In August, the premier pitcher in the Western Amateur Circuit was a reliever. It does happen, but not often. The San Diego Aztecs fine bullpen ace, Rich Peregrin stood out some much that he was picked the outstanding Pitcher of the Month by the Western Amateur Circuit. The San Diego reliever was extraordinary with no saves in 1 relief appearance, a 4-0 won-lost mark and 2.15 ERA. He worked 37.2 innings, allowed 35 hits, struck out 34 and walked 18. His stats sheet for the year shows Peregrin has managed to hold opponents to a .273 average in 1 relief appearance, while putting up 10-11 record with 164 strikeouts and 73 walks in 166.2 innings. He has a 4.16 ERA with no saves. |
