Pelicans Sweeny Named EAC's #1 Player Monday, August 20th , 2018 Burt Sweeny has been in a real groove lately. The 23-year-old St. Petersburg Pelicans right fielder nabbed Eastern Amateur Circuit Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week. Sweeny's hot streak featured 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 home runs, 6 RBIs, 5 runs scored and a .542 average. This year, Sweeny is batting .288 with 33 home runs and 77 RBIs. |
