Espinal Rips Manchester for 5 Hits Sunday, July 29th , 2018 Oil City left fielder Alex Espinal had a fantastic day at the plate at Manchester Park, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a win, 17-8. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Espinal said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Monarchs. "No offense meant to Manchester, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Manchester Park." After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder's improvements, saying Espinal spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Espinal said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Alex Espinal hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Lorenzo Castillo in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
