WAC Gives Best Pitcher Award Thursday, September 27th , 2018 George Dickie had a spectacular year for Houston in 2018, putting up 13 wins for the Apollos to walk away with the Western Amateur Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award trophy. He finished the season with a 13-8 mark, 155 strikeouts and a 3.06 ERA. In 27 starts Dickie surrendered 179 hits and 61 walks in 188.1 innings on the mound. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 20. Enrique Mendez of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while John Rodman of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished third with 2 first place votes.
