Top WSPC Pitcher for 2018 Named Tuesday, November 6th , 2018 It was as good as money in the bank when Israel Puga took the hill for Vacaville. He paid his club back with interest this season with a superb 17-4 mark, collecting the Western Semi-Pro Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award for 2018. The Steelheads star delighted the hometown fans with a fine 2.77 ERA and 193 strikeouts in 211 innings. Puga surrendered 215 hits and 62 walks and limited opposing batters to a .264 batting average. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 20. Brian Farmer of the Southern California Empires finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while John Stone of the Vacaville Steelheads finished third.
