Jon Morales knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Houston Park, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 29-year-old center fielder hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Yuma Gnomes fell, 5-3, to the Houston Apollos.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Apollos manager Ken Tyler told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Morales wasn't the difference."
