Cruz Sensational, 5-for-7 Sunday, August 13th , 2017 Lions center fielder Carlos Cruz had his way with Chicago (R) pitching at PBC Rookie Development Complex and mauled them for 5 hits in 7 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Union ruined his great day by toppling the Lions, 7-5. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Chicago (R) credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Cruz did today," Union skipper Omar Rivera said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Carlos Cruz doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Mike Rakes in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and flied out in the 13th.
