Washington (R) Stops Ventura Hit Streak Sunday, August 6th , 2017 Danny Ventura's 20-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the Atlanta (R) Pilots suffered a setback against the Washington (R) Warriors, 4-2. Ventura went without a hit in 1 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it. "The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today." For the season, Ventura is hitting at a .325 clip with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 22 runs. He has 50 hits, 20 walks and a .400 on-base percentage. |
