St. Petersburg Loses Aiichiro Uehara, Will Miss Season Tuesday, August 29th , 2017 When Aiichiro Uehara was hurt against the Providence Grays, the St. Petersburg Pelicans were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 22-year-old reliever suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Uehara would miss 10 months of the season. For the season, Uehara has made 10 relief appearances, recorded 1 save, compiled a 0-7 won-lost mark and a 8.16 ERA. In pitching 43 innings, he has totaled 34 strikeouts and 35 walks. |
