July's Best Hurler in EAC Is Surendar Tuesday, August 1st , 2017 Loganathan Surendar doesn't think about his career all that much. He doesn't fixate on yesterday and he doesn't worry about next season -- he has learned to worry only about today. That attitude, coupled with 6 saves in 10 relief appearances netted the 24-year-old reliever July's Eastern Amateur Circuit Pitcher of the Month trophy earlier today. The Long Beach reliever pitched 14.1 innings, struck out 20 and walked 6 on the way to a 1-0 mark and a 1.26 ERA. To date in 23 relief appearances, Surendar has recorded 12 saves while posting an ERA of 1.06 and 60 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched. His totals for the year also include 4 wins and 1 loss. |
